TRAFFIC BREACHES

MOTORISTS IN COURT MAGISTRATE IMPOSES FINES A number of cases dealing with breaches of the traffic regulations were heard before Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M., in the Cambridge Court on Thursday. - C. Grinter Ltd. was fined £1 10/-‘ with costs 10/- for operating a motor lorry on the Cambridge-Te Awamutu highway carrying, a load in j excess- of the maximum for which the vehicle was licensed. For driving a car on the. Harail-ton-Cambridge main highway in a manner which may have been dangerous to the public, Patrick James McVerry. (Mr D; J. Lundon) was fined £s* with costs 10/-. There were three charges brought by Inspector; A. E. Hodgson against Roland Haimes. For operating a motor-cycle" without a warrant of fitness he was fined 10/-, With costs 10/-, and for operating the motorcycle with (insufficient brakes, £1 with costs 10/-. On a third charge to the effect /that the motor-cycle was not equipped with an efficient silencer, he was convicted and ordered to pay costs 10/-. For exceeding, the speed limit of 30 miles an hour in the borough, Ashton Ranger jjleaded guilty by letter, and was convicted and fined £1 10/-, with costs 10/-. Thomas Dane Allen and Frank Maxwell Ensoll were similarly charged and fined £1 10/-, with costs 10/-.

Jphn Patrick Sharkey was fined £2, with costs 10/-, for operating a heavy motor vehicle on the Hamil-ton-Cambridge highway, at a speed exceeding the maximum of 25 miles an hour. -

Speight, Pearce, Nicoll, Davys, Ltd. (Mr H. D. Dallimore) ' were fined £1 10/-, with costs 10/-, for operating a heavy motor vehicle on the Cambridg-Hamilton. main highway with a load in excess of that for which the vehicle was licensed. For driving in a dangerous manner on the Hamilton-Cambridge Road, Harold Henry Harker was lined £5, with costs 10/-. On a similar charge of dangerous driving, Percy Alexander Ashford was fined £5, with costs 10/-.
