XIY.. , . BRUCE, John. . A son of the Revi Thomas Bruce, John Bruce was born at Taotaoroa in 1875, and has played a prominent part in the affairs Of the district. His public offices include: Chairman of the Taotaoroa Committee, president of tliO 'Farmers’ Union, president of the South Auckland Rifle AKsbeiatrOrt, president of: the Cambridge Rifle Club, and member of the Matamata County Council for the past thirteen years. He commanded the Cambridge Squadrons of ’ Mounted Rifles in 1911, holding the rank of Captain. Mr Bruce holds both the 16 and 20 years long §nd ’ efficient service medals* «<$ ? • ~
