TE AWAMUTU SHOW

STOCK PARADE IN RAIN MANY CAMBRIDGE SUCGESSES The Centennial Show of the Te Awamutu Agricultural, Pastoral and Horticultural Association on Saturday was marred to some extent by heavy rain, which fell almost continuously throughout the day. Large entries had been received, and given a fine day, the fixture would have been the most successful held by the association. The Cambridge district figured prominently in-the prize list, gaining a number of championships and many first- awards. The draught horse entries were a record, and against strong competition Mr W. The fine performance of winning every class but one in the Ayrshire section was given by Mr Wallace. He gained seven firsts and two seconds in seven classes, there being one class in which he did not haye an entry. Mr Wallace’s well-known bull, “Greenan Baroscope,” gained the Ayrshire championship, and he also won the feipale championship with “Thirdpart Ha Golden, Rod.”

Messrs J. Bones*. of Kaipaki, and W. S. McEwen, of Pukeroro, shared the major honours in the Pedigree Jersey classes. The cow championships was won by Mr Bones’ “Greencroft Amethyst,” and the bull championship by Mr McEwen’s “Susie’s Oxford Design.” Mr Bones gained 6 firsts, 5 seconds and 1 third, and Mr McEwen 2 firsts, 2 seconds and 3 thirds.
