XI. BROOKS, Frank Jefcoate. Born, in Kent in 1846. Arrived in Auckland in the ship “Victory” in January, 1865. manager of the Bank of New Zealand when it was first established in Cambridge in 1875, Mr Brooks then being 29. The following year, on the resignation of Major William Clare as secretary and treasurer of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Mr Brooks undertook these duties. Although not a Presbyterian Mr Brooks thus began an association with the church which lasted for 28 years. In 1896 he was elected an elder of Trinity Church.
