TUDOR THEATRE

"THANKS FOR EVERYTHING" ) ALSO "WAY OUT WEST" Expounding the droll idea that there is such a thing as a Mister Average Man, and that he would be worth a fortune to any promoter who knew how to handle him, "Thanks for Everything" will be screened at the Tudor Theatre tonight and on (Monday. With a great cast of high and low comedy experts, the picture merrily proceeds with its unusual story. This Mister Average Man is selected in a nation-wide contest, brought to New York with all expenses paid and with the expectation that he is to receive a first prize of 25,000 dollars—and is then promptly set upon by a couple of smart promoters, who see in his innocent countenance the shining light of a million-dollar idea. Wide-eyed Jack Haley was a happy choice for the role of Mister Average Man and he plays it for all it is worth, which is plenty. As Haley's tormentors, Adolphe Menjou and Jack Oakie were never better, while lovely blonde Arleen Whelan represents the emotion in the life of Mister Average Man—who therefore proves himself a rare picker of feminine charm. Binnie Fames, Tony Martin, George Barbier and Warren Hymer are as expertly funny as ever, and Gordon and Reveu have written some rollicking new songs which Haley and Martin sing. In "Way Out West," Hal Roach's new full-length comedy starring Laurel and Hardy, which Avill be shown on the same programme, the two comedians appear as desert prospectors in the wild west. The supporting cast includes Rosina Lawrence, James Finlayson, Sharon Lynne and Stanley Fields.
