LADIES' HOCKEY
OPENING OF SEASON MATCH WITH OHAUPO The Leamington Ladies' Hockey Club opened its 1939 season on Saturday with a friendly match against Ohaupo ladies. A hard-fought game resulted in a draw, the score being 2-all. The local girls, who are mostly beginners, showed much promise. Goals were scored by Misses B. O'Neill and T. Petersen for Leamington, and Misses M. Norrish and W. Quealy for Ohaupo. The teams were as follows:
Ohaupo: Misses M. Norrish, I. Skimpton, Edwards (2), Woulds (3), Quealy (2), I. Sage and K. Smillie.
Leamington: Misses Shaw (2), B. O'Neill, E. Davies, T. Petersen, J. Palmer, M. Hughes, E. Wilson, Fields, and Mrs McKinnon,
