TE AWAMUTU SALE FULL ENTRY OF CATTLE The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, LiraiteeSU report as follows on the Te Avtramutu stock sale: Cattle: A full entry in this department changed hands at value* firm on ruling quotations. Several pens of good quality bullocks were included. Messrs N. and S. Rhodes* Paterangi, sold six prime Shorthonr bullocks at 12.

On account of Messrs W. J. and H. H. Thompson; three prime ox realised £l2 5/-, while Mr W- XL Murphy was the vendor of a pen which made £ll 7/6. Heavy fiat cows comprised a good part of the yarding and sold very well. Unfinished quality and stores and. boners. were easier in line with the recent decrease for this class. Neverthe—less, little failed to sell. Appriwimately 50 reject bulls sold freely alt schedule rates.. Competition for* »' few pens of cows and calves. -was*; animated and good prices were: secured. Store lambs attracted less interest, and declined" a shade. All the same most owners, sold. Young ewes were in demand, but aged ewes were somewhat neglected. These latter, however, were readily absorbed by exporters. Fat wetheVs 28/6 to 29/9; medium 26/to 28/-; light 22/6 to 25/-; fat ewe* 17/- to 19/-; medium 15/- to Ytf-V inferior to 14/-; extra prime fat lambs 27/6 to 31/-; good quality 25/- to 27/-; medium 22/- to 24/-; forward 19/- to 21/-; good store lambs 15/- to -17/6; medium conditioned 13/- to 14/6; inferior up to 12/6; five-year breeding ewes 25/to 27/-; sound mouth breeding ewes 21/- to 24/-; poorer 18/- to 20/-J" aged ewes 14/- to 17/6.

Pigs: Another very heavy entry* was dealt with. Baconers and porters were firm at late rates, and competition was good throughout the sale. Store and weaner pigs did not command very much competition and were hard to sell .
