' IMPROVING WAIKATO PACK i, i BEST ENGLISH BLOOD j. —-—- Due to,the fact that the Master, Mr Wynn Brown, is at present in England, the Waikato -Hunt has been able to secure some of the best hound blood of that country to improve the quality of hounds in the Waikato, In a letter to the Hunt from London, Mr Brown states that he has a golden opportunity to purchase sufficient hounds, and the investment would be one of the best the committee ever made. The importation of these animals would improve the quality of hounds not only in. the Waikato, but in the whole of New Zealand. Mr Brown states that he is being very well received in England and has practically the freedom ot the hunting fields. He stayed for a lew days with Lord Halifax, who is Master of the Middleton, one of the best packs be has seen. Lord Halifax is the Leader of the House ot Lords and was Viceroy of India for five years. “He is one of the best respected men in England, and wherever I am going to hunt, he rings or writes the Master that a friend of his from New Zealand is going to hunt with him.”
