SCHOOL FIELD DAY

TOURNEY AT LEAMINGTON ' NEARLY 300 CHILDREN TO COMPETE Over 270 primary school children of the Cambridge district will meet at the Leamington Domain next Saturday to contest the football and basketball championships at the an nual Field Day. Over a dozen schools have entered, including Cambridge, Karapiro, Roto-o-rangi,. Leamington, Convent, Maungatautari No. 1, Matangi, Kaipaki, Maungatautari No. 2, Hautapu. Goodwood and Tauwhnre. There will be about forty teams in competition. The football seven-n-side competition has been divided into two sections, a senior and a junior. The senior weight limit is 8 stone and the junior limit 6 stone. The knockout system will be followed. Six-a-side basketball will lie played in two divisions also. The senior class is open, while a height restriction of 4 feet 10 inches is placed on the junior girls. Herbert Smith Trust Cups will be awarded to the successful teams in all divisions.
