TOWN HALL TALKIES

"THE FLAME WITHIN" ABSORBING DRAMA OF LIFE At last Ann Harding comes to the screen in the type of role that won her fame on the legitimate stage. In "The Flame Within," which will be screened at the Town Hall Talkies this evening and Monday, she portrays the highly emotional part of a noted woman psychiatrist. The absorbing drama deals with the life and love of a celebrated and beautiful woman psychiatrist, who believes her career to be "more than a profession, but rather a religion." Devoting her life to unravelling the mental angles of others, she gives so much of herself to a young man in whom she is trying to effect a redemption, that, she inevitably falls in love with him; an impossible situation that would wreck the lives of four people. It is the story of people who believe they are immune from human weaknesses, who believe that they are above the mental explosions which they so capably untangle in the lives of others, but who are unable to cope with the same situations when they themselves come face to face; with them. Herbert Marshall is co-starred with Ann Harding for the first time. Matinee Attraction A Western cowboy film will be screened at the matinee in support of "The Flame Within." This is "The Dude Ranger/' described as a thrilling saga of the Arizona cattle lands. The fact (hat Zane Grey is the author of the new film in itself promises far more than usual for audiences in the way of excitement, romance and authenticity of background. George O'Brien is the star. "Marry the Girl." Two famous comedy stars in one of the best of the Aldwych farces, "Marry the Girl," will be seen on Tuesday and Wednesday. The stars are Sonnie Hale and Winifred Shatter, who provide a happy succession of comical situations in this film of fun and frolic.
