ANOTHER DERBY

HAMILTON TO CAMBEIDG-E RACE NEXT SATURDAY A pram derby from Hamilton to Cambridge! This is the latest move among the many similar contests being held in all parts of the country at present.

At a special meeting of the Cambridge Rugby Union lust evening, the originator of tlie contest, Mr Roy Twining, detailed his scheme which will coincide with the representative football mutch between Hamilton and Cambridge next Saturday. Mr Twining referred to the popularity of whcelbarrow derbys and suggested that; a pram derby bo held. He offered to do-

nate £■) towards the prize-money. The suggestion was enthusiastically taken up by the meeting and adopted. Competitors will bo required to push a four-wheeled perambulator from Hamilton to Cambridge, the pram to carry a passenger of not less than 7 stone weight. The prizes will be U. 10/- to the winners and £1 10/- for second place.

Entries will he received by the secretary of the Cambridge Rugby Union or the Waikato Times, Hamilton. It was decided that collections be taken up at both Hamilton and Cambridge, the proceeds to be equally divided between the Waikato Sunshine League and the Cambridge branch of the St. John Ambulance Association. These bodies are to be asked to appoint collectors. Further details will be announced in Tuesday's issue.
