SECOND DAY AT THAMES JACKIE THORPE WINS The Thames Trotting Club’s annual meeting was concluded on Saturday before a fair attendance. Mr \Y. F. Saunders, of Bruntwood, was successful in winning the Puru Handicap, with Jackie Thorpe, while Mr R. A. McMillan, of Tamahere, won the principle event, the Goldfields Handicap, with Prince Pedro. The totalizator handled £(iSBO, compared with £92SO 10/- last year. The total for the meeting was £12,582 .10/-, against £15,858 for the two-days meeting in 1933, a decrease of £6272 10/-.
