STALLION PROM ENGLAND TO STAND AT CAMBRIDGE Purchased by Mr L. S. Otwas, of Cambridge, tlie high-clans English stallion. Fox bridge, is on bis way- to New Zealand and will arrive here about the middle of April. He is to stand at the Trclawiiev Stud, Cambridge, and will take the place of the defunct Gay Shield. I'oxbridge, who is a live -year oil bay horse, by Fox Law from Bridgemount (who is out of a full-sister to Pretty Polly), is a high-class performer and raced only against the best of English company. Foxbridge numbers amongst his most notable achievements, the Atlantic Cup, of £2500 at Liverpool, winning by four lengths in the good time of 2.4 2-5. He was third in the Eclipse Stakes, of £IO,OOO last year, and second in the Newbury Summer Cup, U miles, being beaten by a head in 2.30. He is a half-brother to Cresta Run, winner of the Thousand Guineas and £14,500 in stakes. FOxbridge is closely related to such good horses as Colorado Ivid, Christopher Robin, Craganour and Arabella, the crack two-year-old. He is a member of the famous No. 14 ilyThe, New Zealand turf suffered .a severe loss when Gay Shield died at Cambridge in 1933 at the age of. : 11 years. At the recent Te Arbha meeting three of his progeny won in succession—Gay Sheik, Gay Rose and GayBlonde. Gay Shield did very little racing but was a winner in England. Prolyxo Retired to Stud Prolyxo’s racing career has been terminated and Mr Otwav has decided to put her to tlie stud. Prolyxo is a five-year-old mare by Lbnond from Tlvades, who commenced her career well but has been lately affected by bleeding.
