THE MATAMATA COUNCIL STATEMENT OF RATES At the November meeting of the Matamata County Council, the treasurer, Mr J. A. Beck, reported that outstanding rates amounted to £14,208 out of "a total levy of £24,339. In the Ivafapirp riding £1459 were outstanding out of £1024 and the Maungatautari riding £1069 out of £1582. ; Last year's totals were; Outstanding to November 14, 1933, £14,762; levied at same date, £25,687. : Ratos and arrears collected to November 6, 1934, wero as follows: Arrears collected, £3230; rates collected, £1152; rates outstanding, £34,165.

In the Karapiro riding: Arrears collocted, £219; rates collected, £101; outstanding, £2703.

In the Maungatautari riding: Arrears collected, £221: rates collected, £4O; outstanding, £2390.

Last year's totals to November 14, 1933, were: Arrears collected, £3656; fates collected, £1120; Tates outstanding. £35,673. :' ' All collected rates are to November 6,1934.
