A Pertinent Question. For some time there'has been a doubt in the minds of relief workers whether the possession of a motor car or motor cycle would debar an applicant from obtaining relief work (says the Southland Times). Inquiries were made at the Invercargill office of the Labour Department, whero it was stated each caso was dealt with on its merits. A motor vehicle ordinarily used for pleasure and registered for the current year would be taken as some evidence that an applicant was not in desperate circumstances and its possession would be considered along with other facts in determining what relief, if any, should be granted.
