HERD TESTING
CAMBRIDGE DISTRICT GROUPS
The New Zealand Co-operative Hen Testing Association tested 80,012 cow for October, the averages of whicl number were SlOlbs milk, 4.09 test am 33.201 bs fat. In October, 1930, 77,73 cows averaged 8431hs milk,.testing 4.1 and averaged 34.711bs fat.
In the Hautapu group 947 cows were on test and averaged SOOlbs milk with a 4.07 test .and an average of 35.011bs Cat. The highest herd average of 40.28 lbs fat was gained by 73 cows, while the lowest average was 19.571b5. The higluvt individual cow averaged 931bs fat. Last . eason 054 cows were on test tor October and averaged 8501bs 'milk, testing 3.9 and giving 33.351 bs fat. Tlie Karapiro group of 551 cows averaged 7591!is milk, testing 3.87, and giving 29.441bs fat. A herd of 120 cows gained the highest average of 34.911bs fat. The lowest herd reached 22.021bs fat. The highest cow averaged 70lbs fat. Last year for October 283 cows were tested averaging 93filbs milk, testing 4.0 and averaging 37.851bs fat. The group at Pukekura numbered 1000 cows, which averaged 7971bs milk, testing 3.99 and averaging 31.821bs fat. There were 50 cows in the herd with the highest average of 40.0filbs fat. The lowest herd averaged 21.221bs fat. and the highest individual cow averaged 84lbs fat. Last year 970 cows were tested, and averaged S4Blbs milk, testing 4.1 and giving 34.801bs fat.
