At least, past results suggest it. There is no doubt that Mr Yaile, if returned, will support the Coalition so long as it exists. His own professions and his known views of years past forbid him doing anything else. Rotorua can then ask itself whether Mr Vailc is not the type of candidate who should be sent to Parliament, whether officially endorsed or not. The answer must be emphatically that he is. His public spirit, his energy, his intimate knowledge of the peculiar problems of the electorate, and his breadth of. vision all endorse his candidature to an extent that justifies the electorate in disregarding that other endorsement automatically given f retiring members. Rotorua can support the Coalition and support him too. If it does, it will give Parliament a member who will strengthen its counsels and help to raise its calibre.
