LETTERS IN BRIEF.

We have received further letters on this subject, but regret that heavy demands on space in this issue will not permit of their publication in full. “Cow Cocky Who Thinks," in reply to “Cow Cocky," who asked wlmt seven Country Party men could do in Parliament, says that seven determined men acting on principle and free (except for (heir principles) would have an enormous effect on every action of Parliament and Government. Every sound action, lie says, would have their support while no weak scheme put forward would escape their criticism or well expressed opposition. w

“Commonsensc" says, inter alia, that the Hon. J. G. Coates is saying that the first thing they will do after the election will be to invite members of the other parties to join them. They will do all thoy can to keep members' of ether parties out, and in cases where they fail to do so, they will graciously invited them to come in and form a National Government. The Government that imposed the wages tax from which there is no appeal, no matter how small one’s earnings are, or how great their responsibilities will certainly receive no support from him, he adds.

Replying to Mr F. H. Anderson’s letter in last Tuesday’s issue, the chairman of the Reform executive, Mr T. A. Hicks, says:

“The inference from Mr Anderson’s letter is that Mr Dynes Fulton supports the Country Party. I hope Mr Anderson will promptly do the right thing in this matter, as Mr Dynes Fulton has denounced the Country Party and is an active supporter of Mr Stewart Reid, the Coalition candidate for Raglan. I feel sure that rvhen Mir Anderson realises this he w r ill clear Mr Fulton’s name from the doubt ho has, maybe quite unwittingly, thrown on it.’’

[We very much regret that letters by “Interested’’ and “Another Cov r Cocky" wore not received until all the space available for correspondence in to-day’s issue had been used up.]
