SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP. FIRST ROUND COMPLETED. The first round in the Cambridge Club’s singles championship was completed on Tuesday, and the draw for the second round is published below. As the date of the completion of the second round lias been fixed for Thursday, December 3, those participating in the competition should avail themselves of early opportunities to play their games. The champion of the club has to be found early in January, hence the short time available for the present and future rounds. Round 1. The draw in the second round is as follows: — Two Lifers: Pearce v. S. E. James; Tod v. Allan; Wooldridge v. Edwards; I'. Tucker v. Easter; Nicoll v. Boulton; Edgar James v. Dix; Munn v. Linsley. One Lifers: Lundon v. McNamara; J. Wilkinson v. Amyes; Halliday v. Martyn; Speight v. Boyce; R. White v. Wallis; Rodgers v. Lewis; G. James v. Freeman. To be completed by Thursday, December 3. MID-WEEK PLAY. Games played on the Cambridge Club’s greens yesterday resulted as follows: Cooper, Hooker, Huline and McNamara 17 v. Speight, R. White, Rodgers and Wallis 15. H.
