J CAMBRIDGE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP. FINAL STAGES REACHED. Another tennis season is drawing to ; a close, and with few inter-club matches ! left activities are confined to the ' finalising of club championships and other club competitions. It has been an outstanding season, for with the weather favourable, a maximum amount of time has been spent on the district courts, by the steadily increasing number of devotees. There were no inter-club matches played on Saturday last, but, with the weather favourable, there were good '•attendances at the district courts. At the Cambridge Club's Domain courts the club championship singles were continued and in the. men's competition the final stage was reached. The finalists are D. Clow and W. Robinson, and they will meet during the present week or on Saturday next. Several games in the ladies' singles ; were also played and this competition is also nearing the final stage. ; Exhibition Match. | The outstanding feature of the ■, remainder of the season is the proposed ■ exhibition match set down to be played at the Domain courts on March 23. It

is hoped to have Messrs Griffiths, Sturt, Steadman (Dominion singles champion), and Dr Laurenson, of the Matamata Club, taking part, and possibly Bartlcct. With such; a galaxy of the Dominion's leading players present a great day's tennis should be witnessed, and it is to be hoped the club will be successful in arranging for the presence of these players.
