THE RUSTLE OF SILK.
BANNED IN TALKIE STUDIOS. Generations of women have delighted in the rustle of silk and satin. Talkie producers have .vetoed the “swish” in feminine clothes, and all other fabrics for that matter. Extraneous noises, even those which the human ear docs not normally detect, are not wanted in tlio sound-proof stages. It may also interest tlio woman who delights to swish—that delicate sound which never fails to suggest to the Victorians a desired richness of garment—to learn that textile manufacturers endowed materials with the ability to rustle by artificial means in order to please the feminine ear.
