FIRST YEAR CHAMPIONSHIP. WON BY AYMES. The first year championship has now been concluded the winner being H. E. Aymes. lie went through the competition without a loss, playing four rounds. This week Aymes beat J. Fisher comfortably, and the previous week defeated Kemp after a good game. Ayiues’ hardest game was against C. Hicks, the competition winner being down for a greater part of the game. Aymes plays a slow,' careful game, and his achievement in winning the tyro competition is a very fine one. AN INVASION. FROM CLAUDELANDS CLUB. There will be a veritable invasion of the local club’s greens on Saturday when a visit from the Claudolands Club of 16 teams will be received. This will be a record in South Auckland, for the greatest number of teams to make an inter-club visit on the one day, and the Claudolands Club shows great enterprise and enthusiasm. The visit is also made possible by Cambridge having plenty of green accommodation. The sixteen teams will include 12 senior, two junior, a veterans’ and first year. Tho visitors will come over in two largo Bluo buses, and they are assured of a rousing welcome when they , aftiro.
