j NEW YEAR'S DANCE. I (Own Correspondent). An enjoyable dance was held in the hall on New Year's night, organised by ' the Hall Committee. The floor was in excellent order and the usual bright music was supplied by Clayton's Orchestra (Cambridge). Mr W. W. Tarr carried out the duties of Mi.C The winners of the Monte Carlo waltz were Mr Allan Kivell and Miss Pearl Mellow. Under the management of Mr J. •Boyd, a euchre drive was run for nondancers, the prizes being won by Mrs Mellow and Mr M. Sexton. Consolation, Miss Una Scott and Mr Jack Speake. The supper tables were very prettily decorated with flowers and greenery, ami the usual ample supper was dispensed by the ladies. The party broke up soon fcfter midnight. Presentation. A surprise packet, was sent to Mrs A. Goodwin on Christmas Eve, which, upon being opened, displayed a lovely silver bread fork. This was the way in which the scholars of the Sunday School, of which Mrs Goodwin is the superintendent, took to express to her their appreciation of all she had done tor them, and to wish her the compliments of the season. Mrs Goodwin was very surprised, and grateful for the kind thought which prompted the gift. Personal. Friends will regret that Master Trevor Ganly, the second son of Mr and Mrs Gaidy, of Kaipaki, will be an- inmate of the Waikato Hospital for some little time to come. . j
