(To the Editor). ,f j Sir, —Now that the price of fat stock has dropped, is it not time that the ' local butchers reduced the retail prices of beef and mutton? Some time ago . they had to pay from thirty to forty shillings for fat sheep. Now they pay from seventeen to nineteen shillings per head for sheep. Beef also shows a sharp decline. Judging by what we pay for part of a-leg of mutton I would say that the butchers are making fully ono hundred per cent, profit. —I am, etc., RESIDENT.
