The prosperity of the individual citizen is the measure of Ids business capacity and good citizenship. The whole is greater than the part, and it is equally true to say that the greater the whole the greater the. chances of the component parts. Stand up for your town in no mean spirit of parochial rivalry. Competitors in the arenas of life, sport or business can be friends to the mutual benefit, though, their interests revolve in the same orbit. Help one another and each' profits thereby. The greatest posthumous honour given to man is in St. Paul's Cathedral. TJa der its mighty dome lie the mortal remains of Christopher Wren, its architect, and on his tomb are inscribed these words: "So monumentum requiris, eireumspice," which, translated, means "If you seek his monument look around." Your town is an ever present witness to the character, enterprise and vigour of its inhabitants — living and dead. Do your duty to your town now, and sec in your life-time the fruition of your sowing. Live and build for posterity; beautify your parks and pleasant places; secure to your children and children's children a heritage of freedom, recreative domains that those who look around will say of them, "They arc monuments to civic forethought and wisdom." Look around in the printed page, and see -who are those who stand for borough progress and development and give them the support and encouragement that they deserve. Now is the time.
