There is at least one girl in Wellington who pays her own way (says the Dominion). She is the friend of a man who gave evidence in a maintenance case in the Wellington Police Court recently. When the maintenance officer (Mr F. E. Pearson) asked witness how much money he was spending on this young woman, he replied, with much indignation, "Every time I go out with the girl she pays for herself.''
