"FLIGHT." "Flight" commenced a most successful local season last evening, and will be screened again to-night and to-mor-row night. At the present period, when the Dominion is beginning to gain its "air sense," a picture such as "Flight" gives patrons an idea of the lengths avaiation has reached in other countries. Besides its educational qualities the film also has a first-class story, and though not new is fresh and entertaining. The theme is of two pals who both "fall" for the same girl. However, one of the pals gives up his claim and the story works itself out happily. Special Matinee. By special arrangement with Associated Aero Clubs and Columbia Talking Pictures, Ltd., the management have arranged for special matinee prices of 6d for all children to-mor-row (Wednesday) afternoon, commencing at five minutes past three, in order to encourage the children to become "air-minded." "SO THIS IS COLLEGE." On Thurs.day and Friday next the local management will present an M.G.M. feature entitled "So This is College." With Elliott Nugent, Robert Montgomery and Sally Starr. As the title suggests this is an all-talking comedy of college life. A feature is a. college football match. 4 ' THE COCK-EYED WORLD. '' Coming from a sensational season in Auckland, "The Cock-eyed World" will commence showing.at the loeal theatre on Saturday, and will continue until the following Friday. It is a stirring all-talkie presenting the fights and amorous adventures of two very "hard-boiled" marine sergeants. "The Cock-eyed World" is based on a story by Laurence Stailings and Maxwell Anderson, authors of the memorable "What Price Glory."' The production features those great silver sheet actors, Victor McLaglen, Edmund Lowe and Lily Damita.

Those local residents who wish to see the opening night will be well advised to book early. A detailed review of the picture will appear in Thursday's issue.

BENEFIT MATINEE. FRIDAY AFTERNOON. The management of the Cambridge Pictures has very kindly offered to provide a matinee performance on Friday next as a benefit to the Women's Division of the N.Z. Farmers' Union, a most worthy object, as the Division idoing splendid work, especially in the backbloeks and among the women and children. At this matinee an excellent programme will be provided, and as the charge for admission is only 2/- for adults and 1/- for children, a full house is hoped for. Tickets may be procured as advertised. DANCES. There was a very good attendance at the Regent Hall on Saturday evening when the Kit Kat Club gave another of its popular series of dances. The Parisian Dance Band rendered excellent dance mucic, including "Siuinyside Up," "If I Had a Talking Picture of You," and other latest talkie hits.

The Old Time dances continue to retain their popularity, and on Saturday night there was a good attendance at the Oddfellows' Hall. Saturday night was the last occasion the management will hold the Old Time dances in the Oddfellows' Hall, it having been decided to continue them in future at the Regent Hall, commencing next Saturday with a grand .fancy dress dance.
