Dear Rangers, Guides and Brownies,— I want to write particularly to the Rangers this week as they will be celebrating their first birthday on Saturday evening, and I am sure they arc already keyed up with excitement. Great preparations are being made for your banquet, I hear, and visiting Hangers will be coming from Ngaruawahia* Hamilton, and maybe also f rom land. What a glorious time you will have entertaining your friends, Rangers, and it's such stunning fun when you have helped to arrange all the details of your party, isn't it? I heard that there was .a likelihood of the icecream churn re-appearing too. ■ Will you be having a Mintic tin also, as the Guides did not their last camp?. Several humorous tales are told about it. It's a pity that Camp Mother will not to sec you all having a happy time. Well, Rangers, here's luck to you for the new year you are about to enter. I hope you will, all be strong links in the Guide chain, and that "Locklsey Den" and all it stands for will mean a great deal to you <v Lay Your Plans for To-morrow Now! Action is the thing. And here's a chance for those who have finished their First Class test to show what they can do. Ranger News. The Eobinhood Rangers arc celebrating their first birthday baVquet in the Ranger den this evening. Great preparations have been made for the event and visitors ■ arc expected from Hamilton, Auckland, ISTgaruawahia and Matamata. Commissioner Mrs Toombs, of Hamilton, will present the Rangers with their Service Stars and Secondclass Badges. Service Work. The Rangers have been knitting singlets for the Sunshine League of the Hamilton Hospital, and these when finished will be forwarded by Captain Clark to the Hospital, in response to the S.O.S. which was sent to Mrs Toombs a short time ago.
