The driver of a lorry from a Wanganui dairy factory had a remarkable experience the other day when collecting, cream cans in the country (says the Wanganui Herald). Calling at one farm gate he discovered that in the interval between the leaving of the cream can by the farmer and his arrival, a swarm of bees had taken a fancy to it, and was clustered around the top of the can. He had the greatest respect for bees, and as he did not want to leave the cream behind, he acquainted the farmer, who hurriedly secured a box, and in an expert manner soon transferred the bees into it. The farmer, he said, was quite pleased to think that he had secured a swarm “on the cheap.' '
