Yorkshiremen are well known for their bluntness of speech and some Morrinsville ladies who did such good work in providing refreshments for the visiting overseas farmers may not think kindly of one visitor from York-s-hirc. He was so enthusiastic about the farms he had seen that when the local man escorting him round suggested it was time to go back and have morning tea at the show he exclaimed: "Good gracious man! Thou'rt not going to take us back to a bun-fight!" "We could not get them to come, back," said the man who told this' story to a reporter.
