Miss Christophers gave a very pleasant party on Saturday afternoon, for her niece, Miss Olive. Christophers, of Gisborne. The flowers in the diningroom and drawing-room were dahlias and asters. Miss Christophers was in primrose georgette and deeper shaded frills; and Miss Olive Christophers was. in a white and yellow frock.

Miss Calvert left on Monday for

.Auckland for two weeks.

Miss Gwvnnotli returned home on •Wednesday,- after spending an enjoyable holiday with Mrs Rolands,, Opotiki and two weeks with Mrs W. H. Ileed,

Mrs Armstrong, with her son and his wife, Mrs ,S. Armstrong, left for Bulls on Monday. Before returning, Mrs Armstrong expects to visit Levin, Wanganui and New Plymouth, and be away about a month.

REGENT HALL DANCE. After the show a dance was held in the Regent Hall on Thursday evening, when there was a large attendance and everybody present appeared to thoroughly enjoy themselves. The Parisian Dance Band supplied good music. tel-' *■ T ' AFTERNOON TEA PARTY Mrs Bay Wilson, of French Pass, gave a delightful afternoon tea to some of her friends, and was wearing for the occasion a. beige crepe de chine l ; rock. The ladies present were Mrs Williams, Mrs C. Peake, Mrs’ Foote, Mrs R. Ranstcnd, Mrs Push,' Mrs J. Cox, Mrs (’rewther, Miss Buckland, Miss A. Brown, Muss .-Robeus (Mutangi), PAREWELL GATHERING. An Monday afternoon members of Trinity Church Guild met. to farewell Mis F. Ferguson, who is soon leaving for Auckland. There w-ere about .30 present. Mrs Collis, who was wearing ti frock of black georgette and lace, bad kindly offered her drawing-room for the occasion, and her lovely bowls of dahlias were much admired. An advertisement competition was held, and the winner proved to be Mrs G. M. Watt, who in turn handed the prize to ■the guest of the afternoon.

After a delicious afternoon tea, Mrs >Q. Gane, president, expressed the regret of all, present that Mrs Ferguson was leaving Cambridge, assuring her that her . place in Guild work would be very hard to fill. In appreciation of all she had done, and with very sincere wishes for her happiness, Mrs Ganc asked Mrs Ferguson to accept a gold-mounted fountain pen. Mrs Ferguson suitably replied.

Among those present I noticed: Mrs F. Ferguson, floral georgette,- Miss May Collis, floral satin; Mrs Bryce, Mrs Meredith, Mrs O. NOVEL PARTY.

An eeling party, organised by Misses

Audrey Hcivott and Audrey Nolan,

was held on Mr Mackercth’s property, • Roto-o-rangi, on Tuesday evening, last, and piovnked much fun and enjoyment. vA -large lire was lighted and ; ">por cooked, and partaken of round • camp lire.
