The wedding service at St. Margaret’s, Westminster, introducing. “The Bells," “Wedding March," “lolicngin" (organ), “Praise My Soul" (choir), “O Perfect - Love" (choir), “Wedding March" (Mendelssohn) (organ), and “The Bells." This is an H.M.V. record 83120. Here we have a novel musical snapshot of a famous society function —a wedding at St. Margaret’s, Westminster. The. joyous pealing of the bells, the well-known wedding hymns, and, of course, both the Wagner and Mendelssohn Wedding Marches. It needs little imagination to add the bride, bridesmaids, and the happy throng who crowd the church on these occasions. Two Romberg Songs. The beautiful voice and winning personality of Lilian Davies both “come over" magnificently in these two Rombcry songs, “Lover, Come Back to Me," and “One Kiss." The nicely played accompaniments also provide a most satisfying background., H.M.V. recording. Harold Williams. Columbia 05001 —‘ ‘ The Heart Bowed Down," and on the reverse- side, “The Toreador Song," by Harold Williams, baritone, are two beautiful operatic songs, and the fact that this is the first Columbia vocal record of “The Toreador Song" in English, renders Harold Williams’ line interpretation all the more valuable. Especially notable .are the lovely orchestra accompaniments, both to the first pregnant melody and the ,swinging “Toreador Song,’’ which blend gloriously with the rich resonance of his voice, whilst the reproduction has done full justice to his faultless diction. World’s Greatest ’Cellist.

Pablo Casals (’cello), in “Spanish Dance" (Rondalla Aragonesa). and “Vito" (Spanish Dance), Op. 54, No. 5 (Popper). H.M.V. D.A.1015. Grandos was one' of the most talented composers Spain has produced. Born in 1867, .he had won for himself a great reputation as a pianist before taking seriously to composition. One pf the first outstanding successes of his pianistie career was scored in Paris when he appeared with Casals. Memories. A splendid Columbia record is 05012, “Ivan .Caryll Memories" and “Paul Rubens’ Memories," played by Debroy Somers famous band. These are happy memories of haunting songs of the last generation. Debroy Somers has welded the choicest of Lionel Monckton’s numbers into a delicious whole. Added to the splendid feast of Monckton Memories we have those of Caryll and Rubens, two more of the same brilliant school, who brightened gay old London. “Maritana." Vocal Gems from this popular opera are always welcome. This Columbia recording will have a universal appeal, through the beauty of its music and the splendour of the singing. Record No. Q 5007. Two Delightful Pieces. Marck Weber and his orchestra, in “Menuett No. 1" (Paderewski), and “Coeur Brise" (Gillet). Perfection of tone and exquisite finish suffuses the whole performance. An old favourite, the Paderewski “Menuett," but an equally attractive morce.au in Gillet’s “Coeur Grisc." H.M.V. record.
