WAIKATO LAMBS
A FINE QUALITY LOT.
FAVOURABLE IMPRESSION.
A particularly favourable Impression was made this year by the draft of lambs shipped to London in November from the' Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association annual show. A report from Messrs W. and E. Fletcher (N.Z.) Ltd., states that the idea of the group competition made a special appeal to their principals in London. In the group competition, after a great deal of careful selection, prizes were awarded as follows: —
North Group No. 2 (Kereone Ltd., J. Cassidy, Thomas Brothers, Wagstaff, Irvine, Gibbons, H. Ramsay, Te Mimi Estate), 1. Eastern and Southern Group No/3 (H. Windsor, F. Vospcr, G. Vosper, W. Vosper (Tainui Estate), Wynn Brown, Whewcll Bros., C. Margan, 2. Northern Group No. 1, 3. In the Ren Competition the blackface class was awarded as follows: — Lot 326 (Wynn Brown), 1; Lot 33 (H. Windsor), 2; Lot 5 (R. F. M. Martin),
Mr Wynn Brown’s exhibit in the back-face classes was described as perfectly bred, bursting with meat, beautifully covered, but not over-fat inside or out.
