A New Soprano. 'Elena Danieli (soprano), in "Angels' Seienade" (Braga), and "Elegie" (Song of Mourning) (Massenet) are H.M.V. recordings. Elena Danieli, the young soprano who made such an auspicious debut at Covcnt Garden last season, will create a profound impression with this, her first record. Her fresh, well-produced and clean'' attack will delight every hearer. Her choice of songs is very happy —Braga's delightful "Serenade" and with it Massenctt's beautiful "Elegie," of which this is, we believe, the first electrical recording in English. . A Heifetz Re-recording. "On Wings of Song" (Mendelssohn) and sa) "Jota" (by tie Falla),' (b) ■ "Puck" (Greig). H.M.V. D 81216. To many the name of "Heifetz" brings Mendelssohn's "On Wings of Song" to mind. It was one of the artist's first records. Now comcs_an electrical recording of this beautiful piece. The wonderful rich tone and incredibly flawless technique of this great violinist is excellently reproduced. Paskman's Radio Minstrels. fi, .egal, in their never-ending search for novelty records, have built up a reputation for such records that is unapproachable by any other record at the present time. G 20597 (in two parts) will give you a complete old-fashioned nigger minstrel entertainment. Accoxdeon Trio. Another Regal novelty will be found in G 20593, "Light Cavalry Overture," played on accordeons by the Devey Brothers. They arc well known mas- < tors of the accordeon, and the record < will be found pleasing. < A Good Comedian. < Leslie Sarony is one of the best light \ comedians on the. English stage, and < his very personality has been truthfully J captured in his first fully-fledged Columbia record, 01753 ("Get Up Nice and Early" and "Hhat's My Fascination." His many admirers will welcome his droll humour- in »thesc numbers. Both are in snappy Charleston time and have a spirited accompaniment. ."Daughter of the Regimen" La Scala Orchestra, in '' Daughter of the Regiment"—Overture (Donizetti). This is an H.M.V. record. Donizetti enriched the operatic stage with a great number of works that consist of strings of'the most exquisite tunes that enchant the hearer, and whose fount of melody was inexhaustible. "The Daughter of the Regiment" has always been one of the most popular of his works with the British public, and it is still a great favourite. Pianoforte Pieces. Columbia recording (017.10) of "The Dying Poet" and "Fifth Nocturne" will be found delightful pianoforte solos by Gil Dech. These are amongst the most melodious little gems in existence, and will have a great appeal to every music lover—be he low, middle, or high-brew in his taste.
