FRANKTON SALE.

Messrs Dalgcty and Company, Ltd., report on their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton saleyards on Tuesday last as under: — There was an average yarding of beef. The few pens of prime ox sold under keen competition at full late rates. Young cow and heifer beef also maintained late rates, but inferior and boner beef was considerably lower. Heavy ordinary quality"cows made up to m 5/-; others £6 to £7 15/-; light bullocks to £l3. There was a large yarding of store cattle, chiefly consisting of 2-year steers. The demand was dull and a good many pens were passed at auction. We sold 2-*-ycar Hereford steers at £9 14/-; mixed coloured grown steers £8 12/6; 2-year Shorthorn Ptcers £8; Holstein yearling steers £6 5/-j do £5 5/-; 18-month old Holstein calves £3 5/-; bull and store cows at late rates.

There was a small yarding of fat sheep which met with keen competition at full late rates. Fat wethers made 27/6; fat ewes ID/-. Lambs were yarded in good numbers and sold under very keen demand. We sold 53 aged store ewes at 12/6; 73 black-faced lambs 12/6; 321 do. 11/2; 45 shorn m.s. lambs .11/-; 78 at 8/3 and .7/-; 49 woolly lambs 1?/-', 90 shorn ewe lambs 13/6; 181 wether lambs 11/10; 145 shorn lambs 18/3; 50 do. 14/7; 30 at 14/3 and 27 at 14/-; 183 mixed aged ewes 23/3. , .

There was a large yarding of fat pigs which sold under keen competition at late rates. Store sold at increasing values Heavy baconers £4 10/- to £-1 16/-; porker* £3 8/- to £3 12/-; light do. £2 l'i/- to £3 3/-; large stores £2 2/to £2 12/- i slips 27/- to 35/-; best wcaners 18/- to 24/-; others from 14/- to ae/-.

The Farmers' Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report a good yarding of all classes of cattle and sheep. Ox beef yaet with keen competition and showed « slight advance. Good quality cow and heifer sold at late rates. Fat sheep were penned in average numbers and realised late rates. There was a keen demand for all classes of store sheep, ■and last week's quotations were fully maintained. Store cattle were yarded in more than average numbers, and met with fair competition. A line of 230 18-months to 2J-ycar steers, sold in conjunction with the other companies, was practically cleared. There was a full yarding of all classes of pigs, which sold at late rates. Baconers averaged T*d to 7*d per lb, and porkers averaged 7id to 7Jd. The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agoncy Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report : At the Hamilton salc~ on Tuesday we penned beef in average numbers, for which a steady demand ruled throughout. Prime cattle • fully maintained late rates, but plain and inferiorly fatted declined in value. A fairly large yarding of stores, mainly steers, with a fair enquiry. Although a number of pens included in the line of 230 18-months to 2A-ycar steers offered in conjunction with' Messrs Dalgety and Co. and the F.A.C., on account of Mr A. Bcthell, were passed at auction, several sales being effected afterwards at satisfactory prices. A full yarding of sheep came forward, amongst which we submitted a good entry, and made a total clearance. We quote: Fat bullocks, medium weights, £l3 16/- to £l3 18/- > pvime heavy fat cows and heifers £lO 2/6 to £11; prime do. medium weights £8 17/6' to £9 16/-; light do. £7 10/- to £8 12/6; plain fat cows £6 8/to £7 6/-; fleshy boner cows £4 16/- to .£5 4/-; veal calves £1 18/- to £8 7/-; 3 to 3A-year steers, fair quality, £7 13/to £8 15/-; heavy fat wethers £1 7/- to £1 9/7; light do. £1 3/9 to £1 5/6; fat. <>wcs 15/9 to 17/-; fat lambs 16/9 to 19/-; 4-tooth wethers in low condition 19/9; s.m. ewes £1 2/2; aged ewes 12/to 14/2; mixed 2-tooth ewes and wethers 10/0. Fat pigs came forward in fall supply, and sold at late rates. The entry of stores was lighter than last week. We sold medium to heavy banners at £4 1/- to £4 12/-; light baconers and heavy porkers £3 10/- to £3 17/-; medium porkers £3 to £3 8/-;
