Following the lead set by Hawke's Bay orchardists, Poverty Bay fruitgrowers have carried .a proposal to adopt the pooling system in connection with apple exports. The system has been in operation in Auckland for some time, and was last season adopted by Hawke's Bay growers. The first of the Poverty Bay apples for export, a small quantity of Cox's Orange Pippins, were* expected to be ready for shipment this week, but the season will not commence in earnest till about the middle of next month.
