ODDFELLOWSHIP
ARAWA LODGE 97, 1.0.0. P.
VISIT OF GRAND WARDEN OF N.Z.
On Monday evening last the brethren of the above lodge met to welcome Bio. A. J. Guy, P.D.D.G.M, Grand Warden of the Grand Lodge of N.Z., and Bro. T. H. Hampshire, P.D.D.G.M., in the absence of the Noble Grand, presided over an attendance of close upon 30 members.
After the routine business of the lodge was disposed of, a hearty welcome was accorded the Grand Warden, together with Bro. H. R. Ncas, D.D.G.M. and suite. Bro. Guy, when called upon to speak, intimated the great amount of pleasure it had afforded him to be able to visit Arawa Lodge within its own premises) and to learn of the progress it had made of recent years.
The floor was then cleared for initiation, and Messrs J. Brett and O. Edge were introduced into the mysteries of Oddfellowship in a very imposing manner.
After.the lodge closed down all the brethren met in harmony round the festive board, and song and story was indulged for a little while, items beinggiven by Bros. Lane, Woolley, and Hampshire, together with the usual toasts. *
