INDECENT LANGUAGE

AN ALLEGED OFFENCE. RECENT ARRIVAL. At the local Police Court on Tuesday before Messrs A. H. Nicoll and Chas. Boyce, J's.P., a recent arrival in Cambridge, Frederick Edward -Burnell, a young married man, was charged with having used indecent language in Victoria Street on Monday afternoon last.

Constable E. Jones said that in consequence of a complaint he made a search and found accused's horse and buggy in front of the National Hotel. The horse commenced to walk aimlessly down the street. Traffic Inspector F. H. Green stated that he saw accused at 3.15 driving on the wrong side of the street. He was driving an erratic course among motor traffic, and ''was warned by witness when accused used the language which formed the basis of the charge. Earlier accused collided with a motor car driven by Mr Voyle, of Fencourt. Accused pleaded. for a chance and said he had never previously been in trouble. He was willing to take out a_ prohibition order and in consideration of this accused, after being warned by the Bench, was convicted and discharged.
