When starting .a lorry which had been parked on, a stand for a short time a New Plymouth carrier was perturbed at the "engine's reluctance to fun6tion, says the Taranaki Herald. As he . struggled down „ the street mildly cursing the weather as the ieauso, weird noises, came to him fronr the badlyrniFsing engine. Peering over the bonnet, he saw the head of a madly-strug-gling cat... It had apparently crept in under the bonnet, and, in contact with. two of the ; sparking plugs, could not struggle free from.the electric "shocks until the engine was shut off.
