At the Cambridge Police Court yesterday a man named John Wiley Burns appeared before Mr. H, Alan Bell, J.P., charged • with drunkenness while in charge of a horse and gig the previous night. Accused ,who pleaded guilty, was fined £2. He also consented to the issue, of a prohibition order againqt himsclf.

The newly-formed Hamilton Little Theatre Society gave, its opening per-, formance at Hamilton on Monday night last, when it produced Sutton Vane's "Falling Leaves." The play was of a particularly high standard for amateurs, and the performers received numerous congratulations on their fine work. There was an excellent attendance. The play was repeated on Tuesday night with equal success. ,At the annual meeting of the Waikato Hospital Patients' Sunshine League, on Tuesday night last, it was reported that, largely as a result of the effort made by.
