FRANKTON SALES.

LATE RATES MAINTAINED,

Messrs. Dalgety & Co., Ltd., repof laving held their usual weekly stock sale on Tuesday as under:—

There was a good yarding of beef. Prices were practically the same as last week. All good young cows and heifers and prime sold under good competition* Best young cows and heifers sold from £9/76 to £lO/15/-; heavy cows, £lO to* £ll/2/6; small and light cows, £7/5/* to £B/2/6; small vealers, 30/-. Only a. Pew pens of store cattle yarded. Boner cows made £6/12/6. Jersey heifer calves made £3/19/-; heifer calves, 30/to 55/-.

There was a fairly large yarding &£ > sheep. Fat sheep sold at late rates. Store lambs were a shade easier, although practically all changed hands at very satisfactory prices. Woolly mixed sex lambs sold at up to 21/3; shorn m.s. lambs, 20/1; shorn wether lambs, 18/6; cull aged ewes, 17/ ; f.m. ewes* 20|6; one pen' of two-tooth ewes, 34/-* A line of four and six-tooth ewes were passed at 31/6. .

port: — At Hamilton sale on Tuesday we penned beef in more than average numbers. The quality generally was first class, ond prime cattle sold under keeii competition at fully late rates. Very few store cattle were yard9d. A good ■ yarding of fat sheep came forward, and • prices, especially for ewes, had a lower Tendency. We quote: Heavy baconers, £3/3/- to £3/8/-; medium ditto, £2/IS/- to £3; light ditto and heavy porkers, £2/8/- to ! £2/15/-; porkers, £2 to £2/5/-; unfinished, 33/to £3; stores, 28/- to 32/-; slips, 20/- to 25/-; weaners, 9/- to 14/-.

FARMERS’ AUCTIONEERING CO.

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report having held their usual Frankton sale on Tuesday, when only a medium yarding of beef and fat sheep, but a full yarding of store sheep came forward. Beef was in keen demand and firm at late rates. Fat sheep were slightly easier. Thought tho. demand for all store sheep was good, iiriccs did not reach previous values.* There was a heavy yarding of fat pigs of good quality, which sold at advanced rates, competition being keen throughout. Store pigs sold at late rates.
