DTWEDIN SALES. HIGHER RATES FOR BUCKS. Messrs Dalgcty and Company, Ltd. (Dunodin) report as follows: — Fair-sized catalogues were again offered at our last sale. At the London sales, held last week, prices were rather disappointing, except for low grades which showed a small advance. Furrier skins did not meet with the expected demand, and it was consequently anticipated that at to-day's sale prices would be rather lower. Fortunately, however, there was an improved enquiry from America for bucks, and on our catalogue we quote good winter bucks Id to 2d higher than last sale. Does again sold at very high rates, and prices wove practically unchanged. Spotted grades were in good demand, and for '..he best sorts showed a substantial advance, whilst all low grades, in.sympathy with the London market, can be quoted Id to 2d higher than last sale. The continued mild weather has resulted in a very big proportion of spotted and outgoing sorts coming to hand. The quality of good winter skins is consequently small, and we. see no prospect of any sudden increase in supplies now. This is likely to have the effect of keeping prices firmer for the remainder of tJie season.
