To-night and Wednesday, also Matinee this afternoon: "Mons" and "That's My Daddy." Of all the armies that entered the field in 1914 Great Britain possessed the smallest in point of numbers. It was, however, the best equipped,, and the best tempered army in the world. Though its men were few they were supermen. With sublime courage, amazing fortitude and unquestioning self-sacrifice they faced and defeated a foe three times as numerous. Then when they rested victorious on the field of battle word came for them to withdraw. Through the hot days of August and September, 1914, the gallant little British army marched and fought, fought and marched, until weary men feirasleep where they stood, and overwrought brains saw and conjured up strange visions and fantastic fancies! Then when the hour came, Britain's tenacious regulars turned and harried the enemy as they themselves had been harried and won a victory that caused the world to wonder. "Mons" does not dilate on the horrors of war. It carries no mock heroics. It tells a simple story of simple heroes and the marching feet stamp out a warning to mothers, wives and sweethearts of the world—" See that ye are prepared—this thing must never happen again." It is a British production and further demonstrates the great advancement of British film production.

Reginald Denny, star of "That's My Daddy," is becoming noted as a screen writer as weli as! Star. He has written two of Ins recent pictures and has thus solved the problem of what to do with the so-called rest period between pictures which varies from a week to six weeks depending on the production schedule. As a rule, players between pictures wander around restlessly like lost souls on the wrong side of the river Styx, anxious to begin the next picture end endeavouring to dispel boredom.

So, Denny, disliking the idle life between pictures started writing screen stories. In fact he liked them m> well that he wanted to do them himself. Since the director and Carl Laemmle also liked the stories they were put into production. They are "Fast and Furious," Ins first screen story, and his latest, "That's My Daddy." Barbara Kent, Wampas Star, plays the feminine lead while the supporting cast includes Lillian Rich and Tom 0 'Brien.
