CAMBRIDGE V. MATAMATA.
WIN FOR LOCAL BOYS,
At Leamington on Saturday a Cambridge team met and defeated Matamata, after a good game, by 4 goals to 3. In the first half Matamata had all the best of the game, being two goals ahead at half-time. In the second half Cambridge brightened up considerably, scoring four goals to their opponents' one. For Matamata Postlewaite (2) and Hogan scored, while for Cambridge I. McKinnon (2), D. McKinnon and Looker scored.
After the above game a competition game was played, United defeating Old Boys by 2 goals to 1. For United Kccley and Watters scored, and for Old Boys Griffiths. Referees, Messrs C. F. Ruge and R. Hamloy.
Playing in the Hamilton competitions on Saturday Kaipaki 5 defeated High School 4.
