A PRESENTATION

TO MR 'A. D. HAWKESBY. APPRECIATION AS CLUB SECRE- ! TARY. On Saturday evening at the Cambridge Club a pleasing function was held when members took the opportunity to farewell their late secretary, Mr A. D. Hawkesby, who has been appointed secretary to the Aria Co-operative Dairy Company, and is leaving the district immediately. In presenting Mr Hawkesby with a ease of pipes and a tobacco pouch, the president, Dr H. C. Tod, on behalf of the members, expressed hearty appreciation of Mr Hawkesby's services to the club during his two years as secretary. While the members were sorry to see Mr Hawkesby leaving the district,'they offered him congratulations on his appointment, out of numerous applicants, and wished him, his wife and family, success and good health.

Captain H. Moorhousc and Messrs A. H. Nicoll and M. Wells also spoke in appreciative terms of Mr Hawkesby's citizenship, and of the respect in which he and his wife are held in Cambridge. Mr Hawkesby suitably returned thanks on behalf of his wife and himself.
