NEW PREMISES
IN LAKE STREET. TOWN HALL TEA-ROOMS SITE. The gutted structure of the Town Hall tea-rooms, recently destroyed by fire, is now in the last stage of demolition, and soon on the site of one of Cambridge’s oldest buildings there will be erected by the owner of the property, Mr H. E. Davys, a substantial building in briclc or concrete, that will be a distinct asset to this part of the town. Mr Davys intends to ereet premises to cost somewhere in the vicinity of £2OOO, and these will comprise lockup shop, main shop and supper-rooms, with living accommodation at the rear. The main shop and supper-rooms will be occupied by Miss Rita Davys, who is opening this week in temporary premises in the Y.M.C.A. rooms, as advertis* ed elsewhere in this issue. A lease of the new premises was offered to the late proprietress of “The Chocolate but as Mrs Milbum did not desire to carry on the business it has been taken over by Miss Davys.
