Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report: — At our weekly stock market in the Frankton yards on Tuesday, sth April, wc had a fair entry of fat cattle and sheep, a small -entry of both store sheep and cattle. All classes of pigs were penned in full numbers. Tho values reached in the beef pens were below those of the previous week, sheep sold up to late rates, while fat pigs again showed a slight advance, stores sidling at th6\usual low rates. Beef: Good quality prime heavy'cows £5 19/ to £6 10/; medium-weights £5 to £5 10/; well done light cows and heifers £4 5/ to £4 10/; plain heavy cows £4 to £4 '4/,v unfinished cows £3 to £3 7/; stores 35/ to £2; 18-nxdnths in-calf Shorthorn heifers £3 5/; well done Shorthorn and Holstein cross wcaner heifers 30/; good dairy cows at profit sold to £10; fair £6 to £7; inferior £3 to £5. Best young cows and heifers sold at late rates. Light stoers, £7 .12/6 to £S; yoiing cows and heifers £5 10/ to £6 10/; ordinary prime cows £4 15/ to £5 7/(5; runners £2 7/6 to £2. Only a. small yarding of store cattle yarded. Wc sold several pens of in-calf heifers up to £4 10/. There was a fairly good yarding of sheep. Fat sheep sold at late rates. Prime heavy wethers to 24/6; light fat wethers 21/ to 23/; prime ewes .15/ to 16/6. Store sheep met with a good demand and practically the whole yarding .was cleai’ed. Fullmouthed ewes running with Southdown rams 15/6; s.m. ewes, running with Southdown rams 15/; shorn wether lqmbs (medium), 12/4; small shorn lambs 9/. Pigs sold at late rates. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Go., Ltd., report:— At the Hamilton sale on Tuesday beef was penned in large numbers, and prices were again easier. In the store section a small yarding of wcaner Jersey heifers, and IS-months-old Shorthorn heifers met with a good demand. A medium entry of sheep sold at late, rates.
