CITIZENS DANCE

TO FIRE BRIGADE. COMMITTEE FORMED There was a small attendance of citizens at the meeting held in the Council Chambers last evening to make arrangements- for the Citizens' Annual Long-night Dance. The De-puty-Mayor, Mr H. Alan Bell, presided. Several citizens sent apologies and they, together Avith those present, were constituted a Committee, as follows: — His Worship the Mayor (Mr ,T. F. Richards), Messrs H. Alan Bell, E. Veale, G. E. Clark, T. H. Boyce, A. D. Sayers, W. ,T. Ward, W.i R. Edwards, Alf G. Boyce, A. W. Gane, A. N. Willis, F. Green, H. ( Vause, G. Drew, F. Thomason, A. L. Clark and W. K. Reeve, with power to add It Avas decided to hold this year's dance on Thursday, August 5.

Already steps have been taken by Mrs Gane, convener, of the Ladies’ Committee, in connection with the supper arrangements. Mr W. K. Reeve was again appointed secretary.

Messrs A. N. Willis, A. L. Clark and P. H. Green consented to act as M’s.C.

The charges for admission were fixed at 3/ for ladies and 4/ for gentlemen.
