TOWN HALL PICTURES

TO-MORROW NIGHT. It. is an admitted fact that among civil servants, the firemen run greatest risks and usually receive the least compensation for their efforts and hazards. Mr Morrin, manager of the local picture theatre, who is to show "Hook and Ladder." starring Hoot Gibson, tomorrow (Friday) night, ha* decided to invite the local Fire Frigade to see the picture. The dangers, and the interesting phases of the firemen's life are vividly portrayed by Gibson, who breathes a delightful element of comedy throughout the serious situations of a strong story which culminates in his downfall—in the person of the Fire Chief's charming daughter, played by Mildred dune. The climax is reached during a ♦night lire and the entire fire system of Los Angeles was used, together with ten cameramen so that every angle of this novel sequence would be obtained.
