ACCIDENT AT FRANKTON.

WOMAN'S HAND SEVERED. A NARROW ESCAPE. As last Friday night's express from Auckland drew in to Frankton Junction, a married woman, Mrs Emma Conn ley. aged about 55, evidently in attempting to get oft' before the train came to a standstill, fell and was dragged for a few yards along the line. When picked up Mrs Gormley was found to have had her left hand almost completely severed, but under the circumstances must be accounted extremely fortunate in not meeting with more serious injury,

The sufferer was conveyed to the Waika-to Hospital, where it was found necessary to amputate the arm below the (dhow. Mrs Gormley is now making excellent progress towards recovery.
